Easily Create Trance Music From Home

By Bill Lawson

Ever been to a Rave where the music from the sub-woofer feels like its thumping out of your body as you jump around with only the glow sticks to guide you? When the music approached that one insanely radical beat you loose all control and the music is like a drug taking you higher. You are now lost in the music. This is what we call trance music and no rave would be with out it. The beats are incredibly fast and tend to overlap quite a bit and is a challenge to create. If you want to create trance music this is it do it now.

Trance is such a different type of music, you must really understand the music and be able to feel the beats in your very own core before you can begin to create it. With this type of music you probably don't want to crank it with your grandparents over as the beats are beyond fast at 130 to 180 BPM and would definitely set off their hearing aids. With the music speeding up drastically to a quick patter change to a complete slow patter on each track. Having a lot of repetitive beats in trance is what gets people hooked on the wild, sweaty, bouncing around to the flashing strobe lights trance. Now you have to find a beat that is super fast and can keep people dancing all night long with out becoming tedious after a while. Having a great melody to rely on is the key for the entire track. Keep to the best minor or major chords that will sound amazing when put together. If you are up for a great challenge then trance is it. You must be determined and ready for hours and hours of patience to create the perfect throbbing beat.

To create a four-bar loop you will need to install a loop-capable software to help you out. With the software acting now as your percussion, watch out for the effects off the keyboard and make sure they flow together. It is always a good idea to listen to your favorite trance and pay close attention how the beats over lap and just seem to flow into each other. Having a masterpiece can be achieved. Is it pleasing to listen to? question the music your listening to? Pay attention to the high -hat rhythms. Was a snare used? Does the effect that are in the music complement or take away? Always listen to the beat overlap and any beat change and see if it an effective way that is was added into the rest of the track. Also does the syncopation of the snare and base move? If you want to create a separate sheet for this measure it would be a good idea and you can always overwrite the existing measure with the new one that was created.

Record pieces of sound that goes with your song, before you move on and forget the beat. Adding in instruments as well as special effects can create a very unique loop and you should piece together the four bars and try to repeat them to suit the music. You are now at the final step so piece together the sub melody, melody and the beat tracks that you have recorded. Get some people together and listen to your own sick beats. Upload your pounding trance to social networking sites and hear what others have to say. What a way to show the world your accomplishment and a great ego boost for you. And maybe you can be the next big icon at a rave, how fantastic would that be hearing the dj do a shout out to you.

Just one last note, have fun and start creating your own music now.
