Stay in Touch with Your Fans Using Social Networking

By Dmitry Vasenyov

Today with more and more fans interacting with bands, it can be quite helpful for a band to have a strong web presence to chat to their fans and tell them their plans for future. With social networking websites it is much easier than ever to keep your fan base well informed, but still it requires someone to run the websites and organize the information that is being passed out.

Today some of the bands like to get someone to run their networking websites as well as own ones, however a growing number are taking control of it themselves. It could save money, but at the same time it means that there is a direct contact between band and fans. If fans know that they could email a member of a band directly, they will be more inclined to stay in touch.

However, deciding on who has to run the website could be quite a tricky decision. If there is anyone in the band with some computer skills, it could fall on them to keep the fan base updated with what is going on. As well it is necessary to make sure that a person who is updating a website has free time in order to keep the website updated and respond to all the emails and messages.

It is necessary to understand that not responding to emails or messages could be much more damaging than not providing the facility on the first place and thus when your website is established, you have to keep on the top of the communication channels.

With so much interaction between fans and band, do not be surprised if the singer wants to get personally involved with the website. If you want your singer to do anything, just tell him or her and it will make him or her even more popular and the ego boost will be enough to have them doing anything.
